OVER A DECADE SUPPORTING NCFFs

The WRF has fostered and supported NCFFs since 2013, as part of the campaign for the launch of the International Year of Family Farming 2014 (IYFF 2014).

Collaboration and support to NCFFs has remained to be important during these years, now framed within the United Nations Decade of Family Farming 2018-2029 (UNDFF). NCFFs, widely recognised in the Decade’s resolution (A/RES/72/239) and its Global Plan of Action, have been central since the IYFF on 2014, and continue to be key platforms for dialogue for implementing UNDFF goals, highlighting their role in developing National Action Plans (NAP) and other public policies in favour of family farming.

The National Committees of Family Farming Challenge Fund, funded by IFAD, has held editions in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2021 (the latter with EU support and funding). The Call offers an unparalleled opportunity for NCFFs to scale up their advocacy work, advancing sound and proactive policies in support of family farming in their respective countries.
