The World Summit of Young Farmers in Bordeaux brings together a hundred worldwide young farmers

A hundred young family farmers around the world met on September 4 in Bordeaux, where they could reflect on the challenges and objectives to be addressed in the future. The World Summit of Young Farmers –part of the program driven together in France by the French Young Farmers and Afdi on the occasion of International Year of Family Farming IYFF-2014–, served to make visible the shared demands of those who are the future of family farming.

The meeting culminated in the signing by youth organizations from 5 continents of a manifesto where they brought together some claims such as national public policies that favor installation, access to land, and the improvement of the average income of farms to be attractive youth.

The great significance of bringing together so many young leaders raised the desire to further strengthen its global coordination, with the aim of making it possible one day to create an international federation in its sector.
